Atlas #6999 Turntable wiring question

Give us a picture of the spade connector. It should easily fit under the screw. Is the connector too wide or too thick? 

Attached is picture of the connector, the screw and the spade. The spade is actually too thick, otherwise it fits.

I recall a previous response to this issue was to check and make sure the nuts on the underside of the controller are fully seated (turn over the controller and push the nuts down until they are fully seated).  This effectively makes the screws longer. 

That spade certainly will work. Check the nuts as Pgentieu has posted. That should do it. Let us know. 

Thanks Rod and Pgentieu for your responses. I was not able to push the nuts down any further. I was able to connect the spade from the bottom. I guess worst case I canjust make the connections from the bottom of the switch.

Jim, something is definitely wrong here. Are you saying that when backing out the screw head for the ability to insert the spade under the screw head that there is not enough thread left on the screw to engage the nut?

Yes Rod that is the issue. I had very little success pushing the nut up from the bottom as suggested by others with this problem. I was able to get one nut moved enough for the spade to connect from the top, but on all the others there is just not enough thread left to grab the nut.

That’s a shame Jim. Perhaps the supplier to Atlas used the wrong size screw/nut combo. May be worth a call to them. 

Any chance you can take the screw to your local or big-box hardware store and match it up for a slightly longer one ? Even if it's a tad too tall, you can add some washers to tighten it up.

Rod and Ritchie, I just wanted to let  you know that I was successfully able to push the screw connectors down and I am now able to securely connect the #3 spade connectors.

What are the screw connectors? Are they on top?

People yell at me when I say this. I replaced the spade connects with ring connects. I found the spade connects had a tendency to loosen up with time. I don't seem to have an issue with ring connects.
