I just received my Atlas 6999 turntable yesterday. With the help of @gunrunnerjohn, my electrical questions got answered. I would prefer not to cut the roadbed of the 5” fastrack transition track to fit the TT. Has anyone used the fastrack transition track with Atlas transition pins (6095) and a 1 1/4” (6015) or 1 3/4” (6052) piece of Atlas track which would butt up to the TT? Would I need to shim the Atlas track to match the TT track?

Thanks, GeneIMG_5965

What are you using for whisker tracks?  I'd seriously consider using something like Gargraves or Atlas track on 1/4" roadbed instead of Fastrack, it's much easier to match up with the bridge track when it stops at each position.

John, I was planning on using fastrack for whisker tracks. I didn’t realize the lineup is more accurate with Gargraves or Atlas. Would you suggest using a section of Atlas with roadbed from the TT then transition to fastrack for a better lineup? I would rather not have all Atlas for the whiskers where I already have the fastrack on hand.

I think you'll find that for the whisker tracks, Atlas would probably be best, it's a perfect match for the track on the TT.  I used Gargraves just because all the rest of my layout is Gargraves/Ross.  I used 1/4" roadbed under the whisker tracks, and then put some cardboard shims to match the track height exactly to the bridge track.

As long as I have a length of Atlas track at the TT I should be good?
Where can I get some of that 1/4” roadbed?
