Artie that is a beautiful job, I really like the way you finished the tank and the cab and the innovative idea that they did not have to support the same truck but could be two separate models. Now you have done it...I have had that model kit in the box under my table for at least a year, you have me thinking about finally starting it this summer when I am on vacation.

That’s good to hear. Now my wheels are turning and this kit I have one I’ve been putting off for awhile may have to get it going now

Paul, I noticed your last couple post have been night scenes! Very cool, they all look outstanding! It's a shame the chill is coming, that means all those hot gals will have to cover up for the winter! I guess it will give me something to look forward to in the spring! LOL

I have a question...I bought several vehicles specifically advertised for O (some are even Railking) but they are 1/43 scale. Does anyone else find them to large for their layout? Or, is that just a me thing. I also bought some 1/50 tractor trailers and other diecast related items. I find the size to be less jarring...more suited to the layout.

Anthony, it’s a personal choice. Most cars and trucks are 1/43, because it was long established. Some 1/48 is out there (some of Menards), and some kits, but if a large truck in 1/50 looks good with other models, it doesn’t make that much out of place. Look back through this topic, and you’ll see a mix. Placement in a scene has a lot to do with it.

Anthony, If you are looking for 1/48, 1/50 is only four percent too small while 1/43 is ten percent too large. John
Anthony, Artie is right, 1:48 is not abundant so to make do ith everything from 1:43 through 1:55 placement and perception are what make different models work.
Ninety-nine percent of cars on my layout are 1/43...just because the vast amount of choices are 1/43 . I've tried to position the cars in ways that create the illusion that cars, buildings and people are all in the same scale even though they are not.
Most of the uptown rally buffs below have put these cars away for the season...in Dad's garage with the "trickle charger" on for the winter. Most will be out on the road again next spring, hopefully..
