i have the chance to buy a Bachmann Big Haulers 4-6-0 North Star a Express that is new. The price is $130. I am new to G gauge and would like to know if this is a fair price for this set?
"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.
Post your non-O scale stuff here!

That's too much for that set. The Bachmann Big Haulers are good. I had one myself that I ran for quite a few years. However, be patient and look for a better deal. I've seen some of those sets sell for around $50 to $75.
Thanks for the response. Other than here where is a good place to check the value or current price for sets in G gauge? I know Greenberg has the one for Lionel.
Check the under the SOLD items on Ebay.
Where is a good place to look for G gauge sets? On eBay there is nothing as cheap as you have suggested.
Also you need to take into consideration when buying off of Ebay the shipping cost to you. I agree you can find them there for $50 - $75 but then the shipping a lot of the time is right at $50 or more so now that $75 set is $125. If your buying from individual, try say $100 and see what he says.
heres one I found on Ebay just what we were saying but somebody doesn't have high shipping on this one which is rare

The one I am talking about is $130 with shipping.
Beware of new sellers with low feedback scores.
They often will cancel a sale if they do not get the price they want.
A large set like that cost at least $30 to ship.
I have purchased items that that the seller lost money on, after paying shipping costs.
Good sellers will honor the auction, to save their feedback ratings.
Are there any other places or sites to find used G gauge trains other than eBay?
