Hi gang. Anyone have a suggestion on how to remove black magic marker ink from a Lionel 6017 Caboose. It's been on here since the early 1960. Thanks.

Generic Lectric Shave and cubes of Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Be careful to rinse the shell thoroughly after use. Have fun!

Spray Lysol on a Q-Tip and rub gently. Be careful not to remove the paint underneath. Actually, it looks like it may need a new paint job and decaling , either way. Good Luck!
Post a picture when completed, good luck.
+1 on the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. However, the 6017 is so common, available and inexpensive that I wouldn't invest the elbow grease to clean that up. I'd save it for a custom paint job.
If this has any memories from your youth in it I would keep it as is. Someone must have had fun a long time ago doing their first custom paint job. Miketg
Try some regular rubbing alcohol like 70% isopropyl alcohol. Usually removes marker without damaging the Lionel paint.
Thanks for all the great suggestions. I'll post finished project and method when I'm done.
