I believe that's BNSF's biggest yard, formerly ATSF, been there as long as I can remember so it's pretty old. It's on the Kansas City, KS side of Kansas City. Also think I read somewhere that it's one of the largest in the country (maybe 2nd next to UP in North Platte? - might be wrong on that one?) Interstate 635 passes right over it. BNSF is also building a large intermodal facility in Edgerton, KS which is a few miles southwest of the Argentine yard. I think it's now operational, but not built out to it's full size. This may have taken some of the traffic from Argentine? There is also another yard between downtown Kansas City, MO (Union Station) and Argentine, but I forget what that's called right now.
We recently moved and are now not too far from the new intermodal facility. I need to drive out there and see what that looks like up close! That is if I can get close enough to it to see anything.
