Here's an observation/question for boxcars:
The GA&FLA OB boxcar above is a repainted Crown model. K4 Decals were used. The placement diagram from K4 shows opposite diagonal brace placement to that of the Crown model, meaning L side of car has diagonals going NE to SW and R side has NW to SE. I did a quick search on the net and found that the overwhelming number of OB boxcar photos agree with the K4 diagram and the Crown model design is an outlier. Makes placing decals appropriately interesting. Any thoughts out there?
Cheers,
Price

Same here Dave as most already know! LOL When I get a new layout I will have to make a Coors light box car!
@Mark V. Spadaro posted:Mel could you please post a pic, juxtaposing the MTH cars with your Crown Models car, for size comparison? Thanks.
Mark,
Body lengths are 10-1/4 inches (41 feet).
Heights of roofwalks are 3-7/16 inches for New Haven Dairy GICX 300 (13 feet 9 inches) and 3-1/2 inches (14 feet) for New Haven 78000.
Widths over eaves are 2-1/4 inches (9 feet).
Depths of car sides are 2-1/4 inches (9 feet) for New Haven Dairy GICX 300 and 2-1/2 inches (10 feet) for New Haven 78000.

Thanks, Mel!

Not to put too fine a point on it, but a misspelling is not actually a "grammatical" error. One's grammar can be correct, even though the words are misspelled.

Here is a MTH 20-99384 Missouri Pacific 50 foot purchased at Berwyn's Trains. I especially like it because my Moms family is from Missouri and my Dads from Illinois.
I ran three New York boxcars - New York Central #92102, NYC #161523, and Schaefer Beer NJHR #21 (brewery located in Brooklyn) - behind New York Central SW1500 #9654.

Well for "Boxcar Sunday" I thought I would start off with an Ice Cream Truck to go with your boxcar Dave! Gotta get those ice cream bars out to the customers.
Here is a Lionel #6468-25 New Haven double door automobile car from 1956-1958 for today.
Best wishes for a great week. HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Here are two Bessemer and Lake Erie box cars.
These are two box cars made by the Weaver Train Co. I would like to thank each one of you that said you liked these two box cars,
In honor of St. Paddy’s Day!!! The item on the bottom is a beer foam scraper. In the early 20th century, my mother’s family ran a bar on Nevins Street in downtown Brooklyn (it became a speakeasy during prohibition). The car is MTH. The scraper is one of four items from the bar that survive.

Neat, Don… gotta’ love the New Haven. I am the caretaker of my brother’s and cousin’s Lionel trains from the late 50’s/early 60’s. My brother’s set included a 6468-25 and my cousin’s included a single door 6464-425.
Sláinte!!!

Here's my contribution for this fine Sunday! Here's a video I took this afternoon while testing out a newly installed curve section on my layout . Here's my C&O 0-8-0 pulling string of well weathered boxcars including my new Lionel Monon sound boxcar with hobo playing harmonica which I purchased from Mr. Muffin.
