New custom MTH Premier run from Berwyn’s Toys and Trains. NC&StL Sun Records boxcar.

Sharp looking boxcars guys. I'm liking the brown color of them .
My photos and video for Boxcar Sunday, April 7, 2024, show New York Central boxcar #161523 and New York Trumbull & Boston boxcar #777 running behind New York Central #9110, a Fairbanks Morse H10-44 diesel switcher, on my 10’-by-5’ layout. The cars and locomotive are MTH models and the NYT&B car has been expertly painted and lettered by forum member @Krieglok.

Happy Boxcar Sunday everyone! Hopeful that the Boilers can win one more game! Have a great week everyone!
Here's a Weaver Lehigh and New England 40' PS-1 boxcar that I weathered. The two New Haven 40' cars on the next track are also from Weaver...one is a PS-1 and the other is a plug-door car.
Great stuff everyone!
Here are some repaint projects from last year. I have been busy with my C-630 project, so my newest cars are running a bit late…

Here is a Lionel (MPC) #9782 Rock Island from 1977-1978. "The Rock" another "fallen flag".
Best wishes for a great upcoming week...It's "ECLIPSE DAY" tomorrow here in Waco, Tx we are right under the path of "totality" tomorrow from 1:38-1:42 pm. They have shut down schools, most business are closed including banks, and there is a live music show in the local stadium...expecting thousand's of visitors.

Fine looking boxcars all! Have a good Sunday
Inspired by @CAPPilot's numerous edifying and informative posts concerning the "Friendship Train" project of 1947, I was able to acquire these PS-1 "Friendship Train" cars at a reasonable price from Forum sponsor, Mario's Trains:
Started off in Los Angeles by Hollywood's most famous producers and celebrities, the project eventually resulted in over 700 boxcars of food, clothing and fuel being delivered to war-ravaged Europe. Americans, rich and poor, literally stood in line to give what they could to fund the project as it grew and moved eastward. Each car of relief delivered came with the following message:
"In this vast melting pot that is America, there are many different races, and many religious faiths. In a spirit of democratic and Christian goodwill, we Americans have worked to bring these products from our fields to your homes. We hope they will help you until the day when your harvests will be abundant and beautiful again."
Seems we could use some of this spirit of cooperation and love of democracy again...

Yep! I hope they got The Big Drum out of storage and out to Glendale so they can bang it good when they win! Let's get NCAA B-Ball championships back to the Hoosier State!

Great photo additions to Boxcar Sunday........and a great narative and final thought Bill.
This box car is another favorite of mind.
We also did this Baltimore and Ohio box car. We also did this car with the colors reversed. It was a yellow box car with blue lettering. For some reason, I no longer have a picture.

Thank you, Dallas! I always appreciate your kind words! And thank you and all our veterans for the service you all have given to protect freedom and democracy here and around the world. And, of course, thanks to all our active military who are serving today!

I like this one Don.
My daughter was on a good team in her last years of school and when she was done I would watch the UCONN girls on the ole tube to satisfy my need for the game. What an amazing team they had.
A quick contribution for this week…
An MTH Premier car, repainted by me…for the Louisiana and Arkansas Railroad…
And a Weaver repaint in the B&O scheme…

I like those cars, like the NYT&B, of lesser known short lines. Such as the series of Upper Michigan cars. Like reefers, l am sure there are many obscure roadnames that have not been modeled. Good for Berwyn and other dealers who have offered these cars!
I ran a freight train powered by New York Central GP9 #6001. Photos show 4 boxcars: New York Central #92102, Pennsylvania #19247, New York Central #161523, and Rutland #8086. Video shows the train crossing through the truss bridge on my 12'-by-8' layout.

Tom,
I’m always impressed with your lettering. Do you outsource that or create it yourself?

The NYT&B is not a lesser known short line. It is the fictitious reporting mark for my two model railroads.

The photographer got some good shots of an X-38a that was in the yard. He knew it was an X-38a because it had end doors, which the X-38 did not have. 300 were built in 1940/1941, and another 300 in 1944.

Here's my contribution for this fine Boxcar Sunday! This is a Weaver White House Apples Reefer. I bought this car brand new from Just Trains of DE back in the mid 2000s when they were at their previous location. At that time Just Trains had an entire pallet of these cars for $20.00 each.
Weaver did this car for us.
No that's a TCA car Lionel 6-58049 from 2016. Sort of hard to find
Just finishing up the "West End" hump yard...finally found a place on the new addition for the Ross 4-way...
Ron, what are the three towns listed on each car?
@jim sutter posted:Ron, what are the three towns listed on each car?
Hi Jim unfortunately they are paced up. And do not have any pictures. The were all bought in Charlotte NC fromTrains Limited.
Ron
@jim sutter- was talking about what I might call a Yellow / Blue "switcheroo" so I thought I might post my two swicheroo twins.. The Lionel #9740 from 1974-1975 and the Lionel # 16232 from 92,93,u,94,95,u
Best wishes all for a great upcoming week
Don
These two boxcars just arrived from the good folks at the TCA. Another great offering. I don’t know if these are fantasy or prototypical, but they certainly have eye catching paint schemes. I am slowly but surely amassing a nice Reading & Northern train which runs up here in NE Pennsylvania.
