Picked this up yesterday at a used bookstore. I've never even heard of it before, but it's a nice magazine-format book about the Union Pacific 4000s into retirement. It even goes into the debacle of the one in Texas a few years ago, where they claimed they were going to restore it for operation for a movie. Very interesting, well worth the cover price.
For some reason that I cannot for the life of me explain I got a sudden urge to own a Williams by Bachmann Blue Goose northern and the six matching passenger cars. And are they ever blue and silver. I cannot explain it but I like them. 🤨
After a 6+month wait my MTH RK CNJ RSD5's came in. I have to say they exceed my expectations, as someone else pointed out, the RK line continues to add-on features with each generation. Also I was happy to support my LHS on this purchase

Those look nice. If MTH puts out a version in Santa Fe zebra stripes I would buy it.
I got the RSD5 in Western Maryland from Patrick's Trains.
I finally got the recent Lionel LEGACY model of the NKP #587 from a fellow forum member for an incredible price.
I was a bit cautious what would happen when I tried to run it, but I am happy to say that it performed absolutely flawlessly.

I think the more correct term is old modern era Lionel, but even though the majority of my collection is that, I figure I would purchase just one LEGACY steamer with whistle steam, as I already have one LEGACY diesel - the Conrail SD40.
I have 18 locomotives now from almost all eras of the modern era - Lionel MPC, LTI, early and current LLC, MTH PS1, 2 and 3, and Weaver - that I figure this would be one of the last locomotives I purchase for awhile.

Finally Got my NYC/P&LE 2-8-4 Berkshire A2. Yes I got it off the bay, listed as used, but it was brand new when I received it. Been looking for one of these at a reasonable price for a while. they don't come up that often especially in new condition. I'm happy!

Great find, especially if one knows and understands it history.
AS one that lived at one of the P&LE terminus points it was a must have when MTH first delivered it.
Here is mine with its very soon to be replacement.
I would always get a kick out of it when running it at the local toy train shop where purchase. NYC fans would watch it and foam that they did not know the Central had a Berk. They wanted one asking were I got it. I would let them rattle on a while before pointing out that it says "New York Central System" not New York Central on the tender. Also the "P&LE" logo is on the tender.
And yes the Central forced the P&LE to order 10 of these from Alco. Only seven were actually delivered before the P&LE broke the order to purchase GP7's. The Central did try to run these during the power shortage in mid-50's with little success.

USPS delivered a 2046 Friday and a 2016 this Monday.
I edited the pix, I had two pix of the 2046. I deleted one and added the 2016.
This came up on an auction site and I HAD to buy it LMAO, its literally the coolest box car I had ever seen. I had no idea MTH ever partnered with/licensed NFL stuff. Fins Up!

I'm new here and this is my first post so I hope I do this correctly. The last thing that I bought, was a restored 1928 American flyer tin plate passenger set. However, I'm looking to buy something and I hope.you all can help me find it. I am in need of MTH O scale overhead catenary. I need 8- 10 sets. MTH no longer makes them so I have to buy them used or hope to find them covered in dust on a back shelf in some run down hobby shop. I'm not aware of any other company that makes them, so if there is, I'm interested. Please let me know of anyone can help me locate them. I'm also looking for plasticville houses and buildings in any condition as long as it is complete. Thank you for your help.

Ziggy, there are dozens on the bay with widely varying prices and widely varying
shipping charges. I would suggest making a wish list, prioritizing it, then search
various sources for the best price.
Picked up the Walthers Mainline NS 1061 SD70ACe with ESU Loksound and operating ditch lights last week from ModelTrainStuff. I absolutely love these Walthers Mainline units as they are pretty close to athearn quality, but for roughly half the price. This is my 3rd unit from Walthers, and my 5th SD70ACe. (IMO some of the best looking EMDs of the 21st century.

I think so, but passed up another but rare one due to an auction hassle over this one. If you saw my recent postings of kit and bashed structures, you know l may not need another grain elevator kit. But I have another different g.e. kit under construction and just got in an AMB g.e. kit. Obviously, those long road trips on two lane roads thru 1950's small Kansas towns was a bad influence.
aturday I scoped ou a couple of antique stores an they both had some old Lionel engines and cars. So today I went up in the morning and bought 3 Standard gauge freight cars, one caboose and two gondolas, at very reasonable price. So now I have, yes, 5 gondolas. Why ?? because they were there. The trucks and other pats are worth what I paid. The other store had some interesting pre & post war cars and engines but the prices are high. I found out he is leaving the store the end of the month so might make an offer. There is a CSX branch line nearby and right after I came out I was able to take some nice photos of the local coming past. Made it a good day.
This week I had a very speedy delivery from this guy:

I thought this Chevy would look great when I finally breakdown and buy the Menard's service station. The collector's tin is mangled and it turns out the truck load is a bank but I can live with both. Again, I was going for a specific "look":
Moving on to the VWs, I got this little number so that Chef Chuck Wagon could turn the caravan into a "smoker". Chef is very excited at the prospect:
These three will come in handy some day when I want to set or change various "moods" on my carpet layout. It looks like they could use some windshield wipers, 'though:
Lastly, here's an item that was truly irresistible -- even if it is a model of a British ice cream company. Imagine the story telling possibilities with a Mercedes painted like a cow:
Unfortunately, the driver's side mirror is missing -- pretty serious when you are driving on the wrong side of the road! I doubt I'll bother with customer support but I may pursue it. Now if only I can get it to play a tune ... or maybe not.

Tomlinson Run Railroad
A couple of days after Mr. UPS arrived, the Post Office dropped off Part Two of my purchasing spree. These items came from MB Kline:
This handsome guy, seen in my previous post, was purchased to go with my UPS truck. I love his reflection in the rear of the truck:
The seated bald guy was purchased to drive my recently purchased Checker cab (CVS). Unfortunately, he's a tad too big. It might be possible to shave off some of the bottom but there are plenty of other vehicles for him. The ice cream guy is to go in the Mercedes ice cream van if I can figure out how to take it apart safely:
If it's too risky, I might glue him to the top of the truck. But for now that place of honor is reserved for a Belted Dutch cow (painting WIP). I have several sizes of O gauge cows with which to experiment:

A few days ago, I mentioned I had purchased a set of a Lionel 5.0 B&O ABA Diesels and now all the units are at 98 percent complete.....They do run smoothe and sound great. Waiting on new pick up rollers for the Powered B unit...I am happy.
