Heliport for corner diorama.
Yesterday I went to the Hamburg Pa. train meet. For the most part, I noticed the prices were reasonable. I purchased the Pennsy box car, a flatcar w/two trailers, a 2623 Irvington car along with other Madison cars.

That does look pretty slick! Is that the OttLite 22W Storage Lamp with Magnifier?

My wife and daughters are always getting terrific deals at the local JoAnn's
Went to the Depot to get a file to use on the Korber flats. After seeing the price for one file this caught my eye for a couple of dollars more. It should last I am only going to need them for plastic. Along with that I bought more glue and a small container of spackling for the mortar lines on the flats. Pic..............Paul

Nice. Those came out when I was a kid. I remember them in the catalog.
My dad likes the 1951-52 Ford F1 pickup truck body style that was utilized in the classic "Sanford and Son" TV show. I recently came across a 1:43 model of the truck made by Greenlight and had to get him one for fathers day. I of course also bought myself one as I enjoy watching the show myself.

mike g. posted:Lee, if your system goes belly up, let me know I have the same system with the power booster for O gauge trains!
You mean 2-rail? If 3-rail, I had no clue you could use this system for that.
I lucked up and found my original MRC Prodigy Express new in the box at Tacoma trains when my layout was still a stack of lumber. Got it them for about $90 if memory serves. MRC makes a great, easy-to-use system that I still don't understand why it isn't more popular among HO and other scale types.
Anyway, I bought two extra throttles through ePay after that, and this system I just got was an utter steal at $25! I tested the throttle the other day and it works perfectly. No wear at all on the buttons of knobs or the case itself, I'm 85-90% sure it's never been used before now. So if my system ever goes kaput, I can swap it out for this one pretty quick.
I could also quick-wire it to a diorama for photography if I ever wanted to, run off an extension cord or generator if I needed lights of something to move.
I was out the other day and stopped at a thrift store. While passing the toy section I spotted this battered boxed farm set by Ertl. I looked on the back and saw the set had cow figures, I saw a set of cow figures at the local hobby shop before. I won't pay twenty dollars for a few cow figures. Figuring I would take a chance I got the set for four dollars. By the look of the box I knew parts would be missing but, I could part it out and perhaps find some uses on my layout. Well I was surprised it had 12 cows and 3 horses and 2 hogs there was to be more in the set but was missing. The barn is complete and I will be cleaning it up and remove the one sticker. The machine shop is missing parts but I have decided I will make it into a new building. I know it's not to scale however, I'm glad I took the chance and bought it. The second photo is what I have been able to salvage from the set and will use.

That was a very good deal for $4.

Classic find of great little tidbits!!
Nice Bob, you know at this rate you wont have room for any other cars on your layout! LOL
Yes Lee, I used mine on my 2 rail layout, never thought about trying it on 3 rail, Kinda makes you wonder if it can be done!

Good purchase at a great price. Can I assume that you are running HO or N with it?
Daylight, I think he is running On30 with it. I used mine to run 2 rail O gauge.

Sounds like you need to fallow Mark and do some land trades for a bigger layout! LOL

Yep, Mike is right, I use it for On30.
Just picked up the newly released MTH Railking Penn Central RSD-5 Alco locomotive from Just Trains yesterday while I was there purchased the newly released MTH Railking Conrail 4bay Cylindrical Hopper with the Conrail map on the car. Very well done by MTH.
My goal (now that I'm older and have a income ) is to buy the 3 locomotives that were too expensive for me to even think about affording as a child in the 1990's. A couple months ago I was able to buy a NIB Lionel 6-18130 Santa Fe F3 A-B. Now I've got the second thing on my list: a MTH Southern Pacific GS4 20-3029-1. I bought it from a forum member. It's been converted to PS2 and runs/sounds/smokes great. The whistle sounds identical to the real SP 4449. I previously had a MTH Rail King GS2 but it was too small next to scale sized 1st generation (F3, GP9, PA) diesels. This Daylight doesn't have that problem at all .
I've gotta let the "train funds" recover for a few months but in the fall I plan on trying to find the last thing on my list: a NIB Lionel Santa Fe Warhorse Hudson set.

Lou, That' the way to do it! I'm glad you are on your way to fulfilling your three big wants! The GS4 looks great!
I just got this sweet little thing yesterday. Her name is Seersha and she’s 8 weeks old. She’ll be our new hunting buddy this fall

very nice; how bout a road name and class?
Thank you
Just got my Railking RSD5 in Penn Central which I had pre-ordered. Sharp looking rendition of #6804 which came over to the PC from the PRR. Standard MTH Alco sounds - if you have a PS3 RS-1 or RS-3, it seems to be the same soundset but with a multi-note horn. MTH chose to have this loco start up to run long hood forward.
