While stuck in Dallas for the past 3 weeks training on a new plane, these arrived waiting for my return. All purchased at “normal” prices before the MTH LIVES ON! announcement.
I can’t wait to get back to the play trains part of my life...

Where did you buy the DCS and remote?
Well, after over a year, these cars arrived at my Evansville dealer, ABC HOBBYCRAFT, and he had a deal on a NYC Lionel passenger set, old, but new in the box. This will go behind my newly rebuilt K-Line J1e NYC Hudson, made to run in hi style by The Harmon Shops, Harmonyards.... Great finds everyone, Happy Railroading Everyone

The TIU is new old stock revision L, that was listed on (gulp) eBay at a ridiculously low buy it now price. I just happened to be online when it was listed, so I jumped at it.
The remote is from Ray’s Electric Trainworks. He’s in Kansas City, and a great guy...comprehensive and extensive DCS tips & tricks content on his website as well. The remote is the new 1038 version, and he has them in stock at list price.

Cute little bugger. I have one, but have not ran it in forever. Nice deal!

Beauty EH!! I love Nose Art! (Planes, Trains and Automobiles) Uncle flew in three wars.
BUT, Where did you get that United States Army Tugger? "What, if you saw it, you would have to have it?"
The CP SD70Ace looks great, NS1975

<I was typing baited, because my breath smells like worms most of the time> "How do you catch so many fish when you are Ice Fishing??" "Well, you have to keep the worms warm".
Haha! I only go fishing during the warm months, so I don’t need to keep the worms warm...
Here’s a hint on the number...

Hi WRW I have one of those wooden boxes what do you want stenciled on it. Lol,

Don’t want to derail this thread, but I’m having fun with the guessing game!
Yes, it’s 2-rail and very large. I can’t say for certain that the figures don’t have a plastic part or two, but they’re all primarily carbon-based...
It also does not have a 4 wheel lead truck, and it has more than 6 drivers...

I bought this 1937 Marx Sky Flyer recently in an online auction. I think it fits in quite well with my wide gauge Flyers. It isn't actually a train accessory but it will be on my layout.
Jon
Bought a mix of pre and post-war stuff from a friend yesterday. The 2383 set looks good, but the passenger cars are missing some stripes. The 1664 looks great, but the tender has a little rust on the wheels. Haven’t tested anything yet, but hope to this weekend.

I just got this ATLAS 6 pack of pink hoppers. I had ordered them from Beth at PDT when she announced she was doing a special 6 car run. I had bought the 6 pack that Lionel had offered a few years back produced from the Weaver tooling. I wanted to add the Weaver cars done in pink but they have been too pricey. Later on I am going to dig out one of the Lionel/Weaver hoppers to compare the color. Pics ..........Paul 2

Paul, the cars look good! That’s a nice special run Beth did.
I was sure I was going to see more pup trailers when I saw you had posted! 😉
Thanks Mark. The pup trailers have been far and few inbetween, especially the oines I am looking for. I am still looking. Who knows down the road...............Paul 2
Another set of box cars purchased: Angela Trotta Thomas 'Well Stocked Shelves' Boxcar (all Lionel):
1938030 - Angela Trotta Thomas 'Well Stocked Shelves' Boxcar – Top Shelf:
2038110 - Angela Trotta Thomas 'Well Stocked Shelves' Boxcar – Middle Shelf:
2138020 - Angela Trotta Thomas 'Well Stocked Shelves' Boxcar – Bottom Shelf:
And all 3 together:
These are based upon the banners she did a couple years ago that showed some trains on shelves.

@Lehigh74 posted:Couldn’t agree more. Lehigh Valley had some gorgeous paint schemes. The snowbird would easily be my favorite LV scheme, but the prewar switcher scheme makes it a tough choice. I almost picked of a PS2 version of that engine at Allentown first frost a few years ago. I didn’t get it, but I did end up getting Peter Lerro’s print Titans of Industry. After looking at the print for a while, I regretted not getting the engine and got the same PS3 version that you have. Later I got a matching dummy and caboose.
Thanks, and I agree wholeheartedly about the prewar switcher livery. I’d love to find a VO1000 painted as such. I didn’t realize Lerro had a print of the snowbirds. I already had the Reading GP30 “eastbound orders” the D&H & LV “interchange partners” and the LV & Reading “steel in motion” prints in my EBay cart, now I’m adding this one as well!

Dunno how cool it is, but got in an old grain elevator kit, that is stick built on wax paper, like old model airplane kits (this last l think are still offered)...also think some time ago l got in and built some similar wax paper kit. This one looks like it might be HO, as offered by same defunct company, with O scale doors and windows supplied. Labeled O scale. Quandary is whether to stick build a fragile model, or use modern roofing and siding material and my usual scratch techniques to appoximate plans...and double its size....
I blundered across these two while trolling "that big auction site" and actually won both of them. I have a weakness for covered hoppers.

Mr. Edwards....that is a Marx toy l have never seen or heard of, but l am usually just interested in Marx trains. That looks like a gold strike find! Sure answers the Marx question, "Do you have all of them?", with, "Impossible!".

Dave Lionel does make great looking "refrigerator/mike cars. Out of curiousity how does Lionel call out this car on the box end flap?
Also how was the Hickory show? It has bee a while since I have shown there.
Ron
Ron,
The Hickory show was good. I was only there for one day. I helped my buddy unload and set up his table on Friday. There was a good bit of HO and N scale there. Postwar Lionel, MPC and Marx were well represented too. MTH and newer Lionel were there but not in quantity. I’ve included a picture of the end flap of the REA Refer. It pretty ordinary IMO. I noticed the box as I walked by the table and I knew it was coming home with me. Especially at that price!
