Santa has a few things on his sleigh for me.  I went to Berwyn Toy Trains and got some cars.  I also ordered a few new engines, Canadian Pacific Military, the Santa Fe F7 yellow bonnet, as well as a NYC C-Liner.  Lionel had a caboose that matched a BNSF 25th anniversary engine I purchased previously.  I also purchased a CP military caboose, just released.

There's an antique store near me that got a large collection of modern O gauge in recently. I saw they had a ton of Halloween cars in the last time I visited and decided to check them out earlier today to see if they had any Christmas stuff as a part of it. This Railking Christmas Express Hudson was one of the many Lionel/MTH Christmas trains they had for sale, and for $180 for a Proto 2 DCS engine I could not say no. Other than me needing to reset the engine to get the headlight to work and the smoke unit being spotty at low speeds on DCS it's functioned perfectly over the 4 or so hours I had it running today at the River City 3 Railer's holiday display. This was 100% an impulse buy but it was so worth it.

Great buys fellows and @Frank Razz, wow, that’s a beautiful pink ES44 diesel and we should be thankful for all of the hospitals that help Cancer patients, St. Jude in Memphis Tennessee is such a wonderful group of doctors/nurses/surgeons.  Now, I finally started un-packing my new Sante Fe F7 AA Lionel legacy diesels. In the next few hours I’ll show the B units. The AA set came programmed Eng1, Eng 99 and worked right out of the box. R40 A Train set

Love it Corey. All that’s missing is a little Duke Ellington 🎼 🎶 Looks like you also have a B line set - traveled that line many, many times. When they were delays on the line and the cars were PACKED, if you were lucky enough to be standing on the platform where the space between two slant fronts stopped, we’d push the bars on the slant ends open and ride on the fairly spacious platforms between the cars. Might not have been too safe, but it was exciting!!!

Ok, here’s the Super Bass B unit, and in the catalog, 2022 signature, this was pictured with silver trucks, however, they are black and match the AA pair. The sounds are simply amazing, different from previous versions. Happy Railroading Everyone56C57B60-3D6C-4FDB-A149-8261363FD288

Beautiful set, Larry. I’ve always liked the warbonnet painting scheme, and the blue and yellow is an amazing variation. Enjoy!!!

I bought a Reading SW-1 last week so now I needed some proper rolling stock to pull behind it.

Dont know how I've missed a Pennsylvania fallen flag for so long.

Needless to say that will be quickly corrected. 🤣🤣🤣

Well, Bob… if you’re interested in Pennsylvania fallen flags, don’t forget the Erie, the Lackawanna, the Erie Lackawanna, the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western, to name a few

Seriously, of late, I have been trying to pick up pieces from lines that ran/run through my northeast corner of PA since I’ve lived there for 25 years now!!!

Well now you fellows are giving me a guilt complex because I haven’t thought much about fallen flags. However I am working on a few PRSL tangents. I picked up some Atlas PRSL passenger cars at a sale. I don’t have a PRSL engine. I ordered two Erie AS-616s from METCA. I am going to ship one right out to Christine to re do it as PRSL. The AS-616 was on the PRSL roster. In the meantime the Holly Beach hobby shop in Wildwood NJ is making a PRSL tank car and some Cape May sand cars. So then I sent a PRR caboose to Christine to also do in PRSL. I also have a steam engine on order from Mr Muffins that I’m waiting for Harry Hienkel to letter PRSL. All because I got a good deal on some passenger cars. 🤪

Great looking set, Larry.

I've always liked the look of silver trucks and they're pretty easy to remove and paint silver, if the mood strikes you, like I did

with this Legacy MOPAC AA set that originally came with black trucks.

I needed to add something with fizaz to my Polar Express, so I just received these today from Train World Black Friday sale. I'm liking it! Happy Holidays!

Good thing I got the PE LionChief Plus 2.0 as it's pulling 10 cars now with electrical pickup rollers, that's a lot of drag and it has no problem. My original PE that came with the set would not be able to pull this consist.

Bob, that's known as model train creep -- modest expenditure (~$200-$300) becomes much, much bigger (~$2,000+).  (It's similar to how the Pentagon buys new aircraft, ships, etc. or big public works projects cost 10X more than originally budgeted.)

My buddy did something similiar:  got a super deal on a 4 car set of LIONEL Northern Pacific dome cars N/OB at Spring 2021 York never having owned any NP items previously; and, has since spent thousands acquiring two sets of ABA TMCC equipped F-3 diesels and a mix of 18 or so custom painted, LIONEL, and K-line passenger cars--all because he got a good deal on those first 4 dome cars.

A friend of mine was repainting a set of 607 cars but he needed a roof for the obs. He found an obs with a good roof. Then that obs needed a train. He found a set where the obs roof was good but the car was messed up, so he repainted that set. That went on for a half dozen sets.
