I'm afraid I dabble in all fields. except Z, yet.

And in regard to the GTT Texaco Submarine car I saw one on the Bay last for $55 + $15 shipping so I'm $36 and still deciding on the flat car deck.
Good looking tank car Joe. It has a presence that makes one want to keep a cautious distance with any lit pipe or cigar.
Don't lose any sleep over the wood decking idea Joe..........probably next time you look on the Bay there might be one going for big bids.
To bob, I hate to break it to you, but what it says on the tank isn't always what's in the tank. It can AV fuel going one way and salad oil going the other. Trust me I was disturbed when I found that out also

Haha. As soon as I put it on the track that was my first fear. What have I done ?? 😭

Actually made it to Kansas in one day, then left the next day and then took 4 days to get to Arizona.
what's the plan for the industrial?

Gotta fuel those Trident missles some how.

Did someone say sharks?????
Both Williams...the D&H set has the tru-blast sound set in the B unit.
Donnie- I started just like you with post-war and MPC......now I have over 70 engines including an ever growing collection of MTH PS and Lionel TMCC/ Legacy. A Cab-1L and DCS system were added last year as well......
And as for that hill that my friend Paul mentioned......all I can say is hold on tight.....
Bob

The Pennsy units bought from an eastern Pa dealer had it's sound boards removed, so no True Blast!
Ron
Paul I think the voices have found Donnie.

Eventually the voices (blessed be the voices!!!) come for all Forum members, Joe. Not sure if that is a perk of membership or a problem
Now, as friend Bob hinted at, we have to start nudging Donnie toward Command Control

Haha. You guys are a terrible, terrible influence. Hopefully, if all goes well, I'll have a 12x8 layout in a few years. Then we'll start talking about command control.....
Donnie it's not us it's those voices. Like Paul aid they come to all of us, like Sirens to sailors. Few can resist.
Some time the voices do sound like a male with a long ago Brooklyn accent tempered by years in Pennsylvania, but Sirens none the less!

I resemble that remark, Joe
No resemblance at all, a mere coincidence.

There are a number of fine Pennsy 18” or 21”passenger cars available that would look just marvelous behind those sharks…
And yes… I admit to being a bad influence
This falls under two categories, as it's new to be and it's also tin Plate 3 rail ( Standard Gauge ) I just bought this a.m. prewar set # 403E ( 402E, 418, 419, & 490 ) but no boxes. It's going to need some work but it will be worth it. The one wheel set you see goes to one of the passenger cars, Going to need one more set.

No go on a 5x9 layout. 054 curves wouldn't do those passenger cars justice. And my sharks are RF-16's. Those were 1625hp Rail Freight Baldwin's. Hauling oil and beer! The American way. Regardless, the Shark has been designated to freight service in Kennedyville.

Chris, I really like those two SP SD45T-2, nice acquisition! Please post a photo of the SP FM Train-master when you get it. I have fond memories of SP FM's pulling the San Francisco to San Jose commuter trains when I was very young!!
I purchased this handsome MTH Premiere ERIE Berkshire from a nice Forum member a few months ago with blown electronics. Has been on a shelf since so I took it to the club layout last evening for some pics. It lit up when I applied power to the track and would respond to both the bell & whistle but both were pitiful - low volume and didn't sound right at all. No DCS present and she's an early PS2 with the 5v board. With MTH announcing their new upgrade kits available soon, perhaps I'll be able to return her to regular service!
What a good-looking locomotive. Unlike most steamers, this one has plain metal driver rims and slightly blackened side rods. This really gives it a different look from all my other steam locomotives.
Luck be with you, video WILL be needed when she runs

thank you or a memory. Several decades ago, I was asked by a third party to help disabled kids ride the live steamers at Griffith park. The engineer that I was pared with, a De. Breeza, I believe that was the spelling. Had instead of a 1 to 1 prototype, had built his locomotive based on that Model. I don't know what the outcome after that date was. but It is a memory that has stuck 50 years thank You

This train reminds me of the episode of Pawn Stars when the guys were in the back room area and set up a similar type of train that was brought in and ran it on the floor . .........they seemed to have had FUN with it.
A while back, I found 2 unpainted K-Line heavyweight passenger cars, a Pullman and a diner. I sent the bodies to Christine Braden, and she painted/lettered them to match the K-Line NYC "28th Anniversary" cars. Here's the finished product (the bottom 2 cars); I think the cars came out very well.
I put an order in for this Lionel Vision Line Big Boy in a fantasy color scheme. Delivery is slated for December 2023.
The Train Loft in Winston Salem NC is doing a special run with Lionel.
Colors are Aspen Gold with Shale Green stripes. I think the mountain on the tender is really a nice touch.
Note the "Big Boy" in chalk at the front.
You definitely will see it coming

The 7-car train will be pulled by my K-Line Hudson, after it comes back from the Harmon Yards later this year!!
That Train Loft Big Boy is awesome 👍🏼🚂
Figures always make the picture better, to lose the pools of whatever, carefully cut them off and then re-glue the figure to a piece of clear styrene. Bubble pacts will give you free bases to work with, note prefer the girls to the ninja's
