A while back, I found 2 unpainted K-Line heavyweight passenger cars, a Pullman and a diner. I sent the bodies to Christine Braden, and she painted/lettered them to match the K-Line NYC "28th Anniversary" cars. Here's the finished product (the bottom 2 cars); I think the cars came out very well.

Great paint job done by Christine, she is the best!!

Weill I am a unabashed tank car collector and I saw this one on e-bay  as a Buy It Now and could not resist.  Its a Lionel 2 Dome # 36117 of more or less traditional structure, it as a sheet metal platform under the tank and 2 automatic couplers.  The trucks are unique they are die cast and have actual spring suspension.  It was from the "made in China" era or Lionel (LLC) from 2008. The tank casting is certainly the traditional Lionel 2D casting that we all know and has been used for decades but the color is somewhat unique its a dark somewhat purpleish blue.  I had never seen this color used before.  The price was more than reasonable at $28 all in including tax and shipping.  So here she is:

Here are two double wood sheathed box cars that I ordered from Berwyns about 11 months ago. Since I had a 43 year career in the Bell System; the Western Electric car was a must. The RCA car hit me from my past.  As a teenager I was a RCA record club member. I completely forgot the Roadname on the RCA car. It’s the one that’s been attacking my wallet lately; PRSL. I may have to get another one!

As I mentioned before I am not in this hobby for the investment, I would have to make decals for Ready Kilowatt for that Western Electric Car

Bob,

I too purchased the western electric car. I love it.  As I'm also a current employee of Verizon with 17 years. I always enjoy hearing about the old bell days from the older crowd.

I guess anytime is a good time to parr teee .

I was glad to see what I thought was a wine car for a change...........but on another post I was devastated to find out that Cheerwine was a soft drink !!!

Don't know if it's true ....but hey....we don't have to have an ADULT beverage to parr teee.

It is a cherry flavored soda that was created in North Carolina.

Picked up this MTH Premier uncatalogued Union Pacific Auto Carrier with four (4) black diecast Ertl porthole T-Birds at a good price at the Greenberg Show in Wilmington, MA this past weekend.

Trying to decide if I should re-paint in B&M colors to go with my NE railroad collection.

As a fan of kit bashing, a BM repaint would be appropriate, but definitely a nice find, enjoy.
