Overall, I'm really impressed with the 3 k-line diecast steam engines I own. Plus they're more premium rolling stock is very nice. I get why so many miss the K-line brand. I'll have more in the roster in the future!
Bought some items at Greenberg in Edison last week
To much fun

Nice, but If you haven't done it yet you have to go see the real thing at the B & O Museum, and while you are at it, check the Ps4 at the Smithsonian, and If you can handle it spend some time in the basement of the Chappel at Annapolis, one of the most rememberable, times of my life with one the nations greatest Hero's

Good show, Hope you can get several more of the ore cars and build a train with them
Would be a sweet little train, too bad the quality control wasn't what it should be. Can you replace the trucks with some from Kadee
Looks like the beginning of great Tofc Train. a couple SD45's on the front would really do it up good
My recent purchase is this Lionel pw F3 AB Texas Special. Listed missing one port hole window lens and that e-unit didn't work properly. When I received them I first put the power unit on the track to find out what the problem is w/ e-unit. It would engage but when stopped the e-unit wouldn't recycle, it just sat there in neutral. Took the engine apart, tore the e-unit apart, cleaned everything (few times til it worked properly). Cleaned, greased, oiled the other parts, put it on the track and ran like new.

Ahhh. The beauty of postwar Lionel. A little elbow grease and tlc ,and she's off and running. Great looking engine! Congrats.
That is the best part of this hobby the ability to learn how to fix things, Sadly I just had to order a new engine, because somehow the axle bearing on the one I have got squeezed and can't be milled out,

Thanks Donnie. I like working and running the post war Lionel's, it amazes me the mechanical engineering that went into them. Basically the same reason I'm into pw Lionel's and old HD's, the satisfaction of working and restoring them and bringing them back to life, also I like controlling my cost of repairs.
Got this at the DuPage train show. $225, now I just need to get the B unit and the non powered unit.

I never remember these pulling commuter cars. I just thought MTH made them to sell to the Metra fans.
Brooklyn Corey! Wow! Very Awesome poster!
But that subway MOW set is really hard to find! It’s fantastic! Happy you got this set.
I remember late at night in NYC similar trains would hum by with classic “No Passenger” signs! Always a surprise!
Good Afternoon Everyone,
Just received my Lionel special run United States Space Force caboose from Legacy Station. This will trail my USSF SD70ace and USSF ES44ac that I received from Legacy Station earlier this year. Brian went through a bit of work through the proper channels to get final copyright and approval for these items. Hopefully will be pulling a rocket booster train this weekend at Kennywood.

The UK invasion continues...
(not really)
As I mentioned back on Page 352 (?) I had acquired some O scale European passenger cars made by Lima in Italy sometime during the 1970's (not completely sure...they do go back that far but I can only find a PDF of a 1976 catalog so far). Of the two lots, one came from Cabin Fever and the other from Trainz. Two of the cars were UK models of Mark-1 coaches in two different liveries. Since I had five examples of European UIC type Y coaches, I decided to even the numbers by seeking additional UK Mark-1's.
Usually these models are only available from UK sellers (ya think?), which imposes a hefty shipping charge ($40-50+ per car), but occasionally some do sneak across the pond and find their way to the secondary market stateside. Or as in this case Canada. So there it was I encountered an Ebay auction for three of these cars from a seller in Alberta. Nobody was watching, so I waited till the auction was about to end seven days later and still, with no one watching the auction, I placed the starting bid on all three, and won...all three. After getting a combined shipping quote for the three together, I was able to watch them hopscotch their way from Airdre, Alberta, to Richmond, British Columbia, Vancouver, take a day going through Customs at LAX, then jet over to NY before arriving at my local PO for delivery.
Descriptions reference the photo above:
First up is a Mk1 coach in British Rail livery of red and cream. Some have nicknamed this as "Blood and Custard" Model number is 6629 6618.
Next is this London, Midland and Scotland "corridor" coach, so named because its seating arrangement is one of isolated compartments down one side of the car accessed from a corridor along the opposite side, much like a traditional sleeper, but there are facing coach seats in the compartments. This photo shows the corridor side.
Third in line is the second corridor coach, this time viewed from the compartment side. While this is the sensible way to show them, I didn't actually think about it till after I had taken the cars back indoors...it was just coincidence that I set the cars up showing both sides. Both the above cars are model number 6619 6616. Lima didn't do multiple road numbers so both of these have the same road number 15865.
The obligatory "show them both together to prove I didn't just photo the same car twice " shot
[6/5/24]: What you see here is the second attempt to re-shoot these three together as the first two times I did it were early in the year and the sun angle was too low to light up the far end of my driveway. Also I waited too late in the day. Early June I finally got the combination of high sun angle and getting all my Lima rolling stock (some 15 pieces) outdoors early enough (too early and these would be in the shadow of the shrubbery) to photograph them with ideal lighting. Here we see all my LMS Mark 1 coaches, with the brake coach (number 6645) on the rear.
For this June 5 edit, I added one more shot taken from the other end of this consist (Both of these photos will break if post is quoted or edited)
. In any case that meant I had all three of my LMS coaches on-hand to photograph, and so I put all three together. The one closest to the camera appeared in the last batch of photos, it's a MK1 brake coach, hence the combine-like window arrangement. Took some additional research to find its product number--O scale Mk1 brake coaches don't appear in the 1976 catalog I have, so they must be a newer release. I've seen one Ebay auction for a boxed set containing a 0-6-0 steam loco, one regular MK1 coach, and the brake coach, but I don't know when the set first appeared.
I don't intend to represent any actual UK passenger consists with these, so the BR and Great Western coaches will join this consist when it gets run, mismatching paint notwithstanding. They're still just an oddball thing to stick on the end of a typical 3-rail freight (or passenger) train as a ferry move or something. Just that I now have three separate groups of foreign rolling stock to do this with, two three sets of coaches, a smattering of freight cars and now a UK diesel loco.
During the last photo session I lamented that there wasn't enough light to get a close-up shot of the MTH coach coupled to a Kadee-equipped Lima coach. Well, I tried it again, this time with my phone (Galaxy S22 Ultra), which has proved to be particularly adept at low-light shots, so here it is, although at a low angle as the cars coupled so closely that you really couldn't clearly see the couplers from overhead.

Purchased from Nassau Hobby (recommended!) during Black Friday sale - Lionel The Texas Special RTR Set 2323080. Very pleased with the colors and finish of this set, lighting on the FT diesel and on the three passenger cars is bright and flicker free, Itʻs a basic Lionchief set with only forward, reverse, horn, bell, and announcements. Couplers are manual and there is no smoke. Bluetooth syncs quickly using either the app or the included remote. Speed control is good, but not Legacy good. The set includes loop of track, transformer, paper manual, and replacement traction tires.
Iʻve always liked the Texas Special color scheme and also have a O-27 K-line set and a Williams AB set, one day Iʻll line them up for a group photo.

Hi Bob, very nice Lionel model of a FM! I have a soft spot for FM's as Southern Pacific used FM Trainmasters H-24-66 to pull the San Francisco to San Jose Peninsula passenger service and I remember seeing them on the track as a youngster. One day I'm hoping Lionel will offer the FM H-24-66 SP bloody nose paint scheme in Legacy!

Unfortunately it's on the way back to Trainz. The engine takes the program from my Cab 1L but it won't move. I'm hoping they can repair it otherwise I'll get a refund.

I recently found some very nice Lemax lighted buildings. They are in the "Norman Rockwell" collection. In my opinion, the detailing on these buildings surpasses anything that Lemax has done before! With the excellent detailing and price point, they beat the other company hands down!
"Williams & Sons Country Store".
"Nejaimes Stockbidge Shop" just came in today and I haven't had time to photograph it yet. It is just as or more impressive than the two above.

IF (that's F1 spelled backwards) there any Formula One fans out there, here is a very nice find.
I was checking out the diecast car aisle at Walmart a few weeks ago and came across a 1/43 Red Bull RB18 on the shelf. I am not a big "Red Bull" fan, but as I got to looking at these models, I saw that Burago not only had done the Verstappen version, but, the Perez version as well. In that case and with the price under $10 each, I had to pick them up.
Then yesterday, I was in the local Target store and walked through the diecast car aisle. Much to my surprise, there on the shelf I saw the Burago Mercedes-AMG and Ferrari SF21. There were only two of each left on the shelf. Looking closely, to my amazement there were both teammates cars, Hamilton & Russell for Mercedes-AMG and Leclerc & Sainz for Ferrari. Come with me fellows, we're going home!

Lionel's model of Frisco Russian Decapod 1630, which runs at the Illinois Railway Museum and is featured on the 2023 and 2024 Illinois Railway Museum calendars. Lionel did a good job, including the air pumps on the pilot beam and air under the boiler.
