I have a WTB post that is not needed because Rich put me on the right track, but because he replied I can't delete it. Apparently, because it is my post, neither can I report it to have it deleted. I'm just trying to make room for the rest, so is there a method to accomplish this?

Send an "ALERT", i.e. select "Report Topic", to the Moderator, and ask him to delete the post/thread.
You cannot report a topic you started or your own post. Since Rich replied, report his post and fill out the information in the box. They'll figure it out.
Can't you change the header to read "Please Delete" and the reason?

Good suggestion. I would think just editing the title/header to "PLEASE DELETE" would be sufficient.
I did change the topic header. Sometimes it takes a moderator a long time to get the mundane chore of looking for posts to delete. I am trying to lighten their load a bit and move someone else's post up a notch.

You can but the "Alert" is probably the quickest way since it sends them an email without having to be on the forum looking through pages of posts.

I believe it is board policy to have people put "delete" in the header to flag a post for deletion.
I seriously doubt that anybody deletes individual for sale or wanted posts by hand. They probably have a script.

Might be faster, though if the software is actually set to detect "delete" and do so it doesn't require interaction. Otherwise we have to work with the software as designed. I'm just glad OGR provides us with this forum!
You are correct in that you cannot report your own post. However, you can also choose a reply within the thread and report that. In the message area of the alert box, type your message about deletion. We'll get it.
Thank you, Rich. You are always up front and have our back.
