While resurrecting my Lionel stuff I haven't seen in 20 years I found a 1033 I didn't recall having.  I have another one that works well, along with some small transformers, and I just bought a great ZW.  I plugged the 1033 in, and didn't get any juice out of any post.  I've attached a screen capture of another 1033, and the bit I've circled in red is missing from mine.  There's just a hole there.

I looked up some 1033 manuals, and didn't see a parts list.  Is this a part that I can buy (I don't even know what to call it)?  If I can buy it, is this something I can fix on my own, or should I take it in somewhere?  If I take it in, will it cost more to fix it than it's worth (I really don't need it, but I hate to throw things away if salvageable)?

Thanks in advance.

These 1033 transformers are worth from 25 to 35 dollars at auctions around the US. They are all over. it would cost really more than it is worth. some one might buy it if cheap enough.  Put it put on OGR selling point and see what happens.   Postage will cost more than it is worth.  If you know of a train store maybe they will trade you for something you want.  last resort take to you town's recycling place and dump it into the metal bin.

@ADCX Rob, from the schematics @Susan Deats supplied, the adjusting screw was still there but it appeared to have corroded.  Half of the circuit breaker was missing, there was a hole where it was.  It just looked to be in bad shape.  I had no recollection of owning or buying it or even using it.  I'm guessing my dad got it from some friend and just added it to the box, he was a bit of a hoarder.  When I resurrected the collection in the mid 80s after 20 years, I did buy a new Lionel transformer at the time, can't remember the number.  So, with that one, a working 1033, and a newly refurbished ZW, I have all I need.

There aren't many train meets in Houston that I'm aware of, so I have no chance to sell or trade it.

My grandfather did a similar thing, he packed away one working 1033 and the one he used for parts. The insulation on the old cord was shot so I replaced that with a new one (no ground). I took my sd70's off the rails a few weeks ago and I've been running my old 2026. I think it may be time for a new rectifier, I can hear the fan start to whirl in the tender but it doesn't have enough juice to whistle.

Thank you, Susan, for posting that information.

My grandfather never bought anything new. He was king of the garage sales!  He told me that sometimes he would see a box of train stuff and offer a few dollars for the whole box. He grew up in the depression and was a picker waaaaaaayyyyyyyy before those guys showed up on tv. He was able to assemble a complete train with cattle car and milk car and their accessories. I think he would have been fascinated by Ebay. :-)
