Tom,  I do believe some Z-1000 bricks had this issue and they can be disassembled to correct.  I will look it up for you.  G

 

Tom, If you open the brick, the two wires coming out of the breaker are common.  One to the outer ring of the 18V plug and the other goes to the terminal common.  Hot comes directly from transformer windings.  One to the center of the 18V plug and the other to the Hot of the 14V terminal.  You should be able to swap the terminal wires if they are wrong.  Or maybe the terminal can be rotated 180 degrees. (not sure).   G

Thanks, G.  I'll check it out.  For now, using a Z500 to power the TIU is working, and the Z1000 is happily providing 80W of 14V power to switches, etc., commoned to the Z4000 output.
