Caveat - pending the inevitable delays, I'm very excited to take delivery on some awesome product in the near future.

There's something very satisfying about finally getting an engine after planning financially after paging through the catalogue...

Of note - KCS Sd60Macs from Lionel, a Great Northern heavy Mikado, and the Legacy Big Boy.

Knowing that there will (hopefully) be an influx of new product scheduled to begin shipping this month, what are you really looking forward to owning/operating?

oops - how could I forget the GM TOT, tentatively shipping in October

You got that right. I cannot wait until November when the Lionel 1225 and 765 's are  in!

With whistle steam, updated sounds... I missed the first legacy release. So this is going to be a great Christmas.

I think I really had to curb the spending this year, just too many great things coming down the pike!

I don't share excitement in the upcoming months. I have three locomotives on order, like most people here one is the Big Boy, also 765 and Diesel FA-2.

The Diesel (three unit) were scheduled for August delivery the others are December delivery. I don't have excitement in the upcoming months because I have no idea when any of these units will ship. My hopes are because the Big Boy is so popular it will be delivered first. My actual thoughts are Spring 2015? However I will be grinning from ear to ear as they actually arrive.

Per the title.....I'll let you know on Wednesday, November 5.

However, if the two (announced, so far) Woodland Scenics buildings are really shipped in October...as is the current forecast...it could help the excitement immensely!!

Otherwise, WE (wifey and I) are definitely looking forward to York-a-mania in October.

And, if Lionel would announce shipment of the ATSF boxcar 5-pack, I could REALLY get jacked!!

Re the holidays.....not so much.  They're coming this year WAY too fast.  It's my age, I know.  I was warned of this....the days/months/years start flying by the older one gets.  So true, so true.

(sigh)

Well, that's the most optimistic outlook one can have regarding the 990's that were absent from dealer shelves for almost two years and delayed in limbo for 9+ months due to the parts QA issue.    But it's great to finally have them again.

It is the BEST season of all!  Both the wife and I LOVE riding our dual sport motorcycles in the autumn.  For the past few years, we've kicked off the season trailering the bikes to Colorado and spending a week or so riding the passes and other cool places.  This year will be no exception: We leave Friday!!!  Yippee!  Below are some pics of last year's Colorado ride.

What the date for the o scale train meet in Strasburg? Is it one of the 2 rail meets at the firehouse or a 3 rail meet?

It's the 2-rail meet at the firehouse.  I forget the exact date in November.

well while some will be turning heat on we will be opening doors and windows to enjoy outdoors in cooler temps than hot summer!

which means the smoke units can once again be activated as AC will not be on.

autumn fall colors to see up north a 2hr drive the holidays will be upon us soon.

and lastly being retired to actually enjoy the holidays while the working class is balancing work and family times.

ahhhhhhhh retirement does have its perks!!

but mostly running trains more and way less yardwork.

and possibly seeing my BB actually shipping at end of december.

Bob, if you ordered this much you know it will all come in on the same day...

And that will be the day after the furnace went out.

I guess I'm lucky most of the things I wanted were already in the market place and I've been able to get most of it through Mario's Coupon sales. I think I may have just placed my last order last night and will probably show up Saturday. Though there is one item that's  supposed to ship on the 14th I'd like. I'm not so sure I have room for it yet.

So most of my excitement for the coming months is towards building new displays and not acquiring new equipment.

A Legacy Heavy Mikado, an Atlas SW, and some Weaver 40' tank cars.

It was supposed to be a PE Berk and cars, but we decided to keep the postwar 2046 set around the Christmas tree. Andy at Nicholas Smith switched things around for me.

Mmmmm, fall ..... cold and snow, working/playing on the layout, some NFL and NHL, Christmas
