I have a real nice looking DT&I Weaver caboose BUT. The P/U rollers won't run through turnouts without derailing.

I know the cause but other than a truck change I have no answer. The spring travel is too short, it drops into the rail gap and then pops up and derails.  Running it on other brands of turnouts makes no difference. Has anyone tried replacing the trucks?

I deactivate caboose lighting, myself, intentionally, with one method or another. It usually looks odd, and with command control's 18V it appears that an atomic reaction is occurring in there.

One could not typically see any lights on in a real caboose during bright daylight hours, anyway. They would be off, probably. At night, a glow or maybe a single lamp would show. This can be done in a model, but almost never is. All too often it's a Campfire-in-the-Caboose look.

Variable-voltage (conventional) control reduces the glare.
