Attached are the room dimensions for a newly built space for my trains.  I am having some challenges in getting started with designing the actual layout.  I would like to incorporate a 36" Millhouse River Studio turntable in the layout ,and other topical areas including an oil field, industrial, ski resort and agricultural sections.  I have quite a bit of buildings and accessories from my last layout but I am trying to understand how best to maximize the 500 sq. foot area.  My last layout was designed by The TrainShack in Burbank, CA but unfortunately Brian Keck, is booked solid and cannot do the layout design for me.  I am using Atlas 3-rail track.  When I looked into RR-Track design software it does appear to be updated on a regular basis and they have never returned any of emails concerning some questions I had with the software .  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I gave up on RR-Track several years ago in favor of SCARM. I also have AnyRail installed, but didn't buy it, so it's limited to 100 pieces. They both have a learning curve, but offer the limited versions for free. It's tedious, but you can design a full layout if you break it into <100 piece segments.

Anyway, here's  what I gleaned from the pdf file for the room size. Not knowing how you plan to use the room, I simply left a small section by the door free and filled the rest. I added a 34" MRS turntable and 4-stall Altoona roundhouse that I had in another design just to show scale. I know you said 36" TT, but SCARM only has 24, 28 and 34" models. The curves are O-99s and the switches are O-72.
