Nice. I've camped out in Salem, VA near the NS main line and a cavern. If no trains, then it's the pits! 
Great shot. Reminded me of doing the same thing on a dirt road next to the tracks by Emigrant Gap in the Sierras on the way from SF to Reno. Thanks for sharing.

Good deal. Freqent train traffic keeps bears away. 
Years ago, in the 1950's, we used to camp in a now closed U.S. Forest Service
campground up above the Durango to Silverton route of the D&RGW. This was
fairly far up the canyon. There was also, and I think it is gone now, too, a public campground/trailer park just north of Durango that you crossed the tracks to access, where I camped once.
