Lee, I seem to remember this Mohawk is a RailKing model that started out in ATSF paint.  Did you repaint the whole thing or just remove the ATSF markings before applying the NYC decals?  I plan on doing the same switch and would love to avoid a whole repaint.

Joe this is a Railking Hudson that was a Union Pacific that repainted and decaled with Microscale decals it’s not hard to take the tender apart.

Well Hello, F.E.F fans, its Friday already.  I have a sort of mixed consist today, some Lionel and a European loco most all from that glorious post war period of the 1950's and 1960's.

First, to augment BirkshireLover726,(Cody),  here is a somewhat later version of the the Lionel Berkshire, the 736, available from 1950 -1966.     This one is from the 1960's , but it really runs well.  This is about the largest engine that I can operate on my Leonardtown and Savannah RR, and only on the outside (0-31) main.

Another sort of well known "front end" is the Lionel NYC 2344/2344C A-B-A F-3 combination (so called "chicken wire" F-3's) available from 1950 - 1952.

Finally an odd one, this is a Konrad Dressler locomotive, labeled "made in U.S.zone Germany" which dates it from some time between 1945 and 1955. This loco is from the 1950's which matches the HWN Heinrich Wimmer , Nurmberg green coaches that its pulling also from the 1950's.  By the way, thanks go to Arnie, who gave me the ID on these trains.  Unlike the Lionel's above , this loco is clockwork.

…and my Kato Milwaukee Road Olympian Hiawatha EMD FP7A #95C.  Yes, technically I realize locomotive #95C was the trailing locomotive in the 3-loco consist – and faced the rear - but I noticed the number board in the photo after I put away everything from the photo shoot, so it is what it is 😊.  Plus, it is still the front end of the locomotive, if not the consist.

Well everyone, here we are on F.E.F and some great pictures.  Leapinlarry, that is really a beautiful Century 773 Hudson.  Lee Drennen, the NYC F-3 with the Pacemaker tractor trailer in the background tells a great story.  DG some neat Wabash engines, we don't see that road much.  Jesse Ferguson the lighting on the hopper with the Southern GP is really neat.

My posts for today's "front end celebration" are two, both Marx and one diesel and one steam. First the GE 70 ton in Cape Canaveral colors pulling its load of "rocket fuel".  Since I worked for NASA I can vouch for the fact that they did have some similar diesels at the Cape (now Cape Kennedy) but the color scheme is not as cool as Mr. Marx depicts.  This loco was produced from 1959-1964.

Now the steam offering.  This is the Marx "mighty" 994 on my home town Leonardtown and Savannah, pulling out of the mountains and driving for the coast.  Shown here leaving the pine "forests" of inland Georgia (where a lot of our paper / plywood comes from) and headed home for dinner!!  OK I admit that the pine forest is just one tree and the mountain is just my short tunnel, but when you work in a world where 30" in width is all you have, you need to stretch your imagination !!
