Then when of the little brats gets injured, or worse yet, KILLED, the parents will blame the railroad and try to extort money from them.
When it comes to stupidity around railroad tracks it knows no age.
I was on this train a week ago Saturday and have no sympathy for the "victim":
Pretty harsh there Jonathan. A 90 year old man is typically not stupid (or he wouldn't have lived to 90).
Now whether he should have been driving may be another discussion. I have sympathy for this elderly gentleman and his family.

Here are pictures of the bridge in question. I know it very well. Five years ago it was a wood structure on pilings that required a 10 MPH speed restriction. The new bridge is concrete / steel. Located just north of the Bayhead terminus about 1/2 mile north of the Pt. Pleasant station.
The bigger problem is fisherman crossing this bridge to fish on the banks and upper part of the manasquan river. The kids jumping off the bridge is just one aspect of this area that is scary. I've crossed this bridge on foot myself. Also, kayakers and others pull out at the bridge and "hang out".
I predict before a pedestrian / trespasser is hit, a car is going to get wiped out at that crossing as the beach traffic coming off Pt. Pleasant Beach backs up on that road as people head to the Garden State Parkway in the afternoon. Too many drivers that are literally locked in the crossing because they pulled up and now have nowhere to go.

Friends of mine have and continue to jump off this particular bridge. But take the picture of the young girl sitting on the concrete support. In my opinion that's fine as long as you aren't on the ROW or on the bridge.
