Be aware that used Gargraves usually requires more work to get it to bend. It can easily turn into quite a chore. The best way I've found to work with used is to spray it with WD-40 and let it soak for awhile. You'll get to enjoy that scent for quite some time, and you need to clean the rails before you run any trains. Your choice, of course.

Our own forum sponsor Charles Ro has a good price on the cases, and you might find it a little cheaper elsewhere, but the shipping is what you have to look into. The track might be cheaper at one place, but then they charge you 3 times the price for shipping. You have to look at the total price shipped

Be sure you know which Gargraves track you are buying, as Gargraves makes a few kinds of track. Flex track, stainless steel, Phantom rail(center rail darkened), and steel track, also you can get plastic ties or wood ties, don't know for sure if wood ties are still made.

Hopefully you have used Gargraves track before or you will be in for a surprise. All three rails are electrically separated from each other, each rail will need it's own power.

Does anyone make or have plans to make a track bender?

I made my own. I just drew a line on a piece of plywood in the desired radius mounted wooden blocks and tacked a thin wood strip to the blocks to  bend the track around. Works great. Sorry i don't have pic's of it.

Good luck.

I gotta get one, better than what i made buy a long shot. Do you know which one i need for gargraves?

Call the number in the track bender link, they can tell you which one you'll need.  I can't remember which one I ordered.  Very nice people to do business with.

This is one of those "buy the right tool and the job will be much easier" things.....

I plan on either selling it here or keeping it in the tool box once I am done with it. Probably the latter, I am a "tool hoarder,"as my wife calls me.

Nothing like the right tool, i hoard tools myself, never know when you will need it.
