You're right Ted.  This show advertised 5 layouts and 200 tables. The only thing close to being true was the free parking.  Have a great time at the Edison show.         RTR12  I'll probably be doing what you're doing from now on.  Lucky though the Springfield, MA show is only a 2 hour drive.  It just seems like a lot longer on the way home.  RICH

Hay all yoos guy's,

The Raritan Valley Hi-Railers will be there with our 40X50' layout to WOW you. The show is March 18 & 19 from 10a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday at Raritan Center in Edison N.J. Stop by to say "hello"to some of the guy's. Always looking to chat with others especially to meet some forum members and pick their brains about the hobby. We've got some new modules coming out later this year, so stay tuned. Hay Ted, we'll be looking for you & Steve. See you soon!!!

Sounds good to me. At least the local shows here were only about a 45 min drive one way for me. a little closer. I may try another one in the next couple of years just to see if anything has changed?

Rich64,

Greenberg's tried something different to have a show south of Boston, yes it could have been better and it was the first time in Hanover. There was a N scale layout, HO layout and the South Shore Hi-Railers with their O gauge layout, they also display at the March and November Greenberg Show at the Shriners Auditorium in Wilmington, MA.  I had 5 tables of Lionel O gauge trains and just 3 American Flyer engines which all sold and I wish I had more American Flyer S scale trains, I did not have any modern scale trains mostly postwar, mpc and traditional size Lionel and I left the show with 6 less (apple size boxes) boxes of trains when I setup on Friday afternoon, so from my perspective I call the show a success.  The people who left with trains from my tables and other dealer tables were happy .  I was able to sell trains that I don't need or will ever use and they went to a good home.  I'm sorry you and your grandkids did not enjoy the show.

Unfortunately, if private sellers, train stores and dealers don't sign up to sell merchandise there are fewer choices of trains for perspective buyers.  Unlike the Springfield show at The Big E and York TCA shows and other large shows where the large dealers set up with numerous choices of newer trains from Lionel, MTH and Atlas, etc.

There was a dealer from New York selling Woodland Scenic products and my son picked up some accessories for the layout, I bought a MTH Extended Vision Caboose, I have been looking for and two brand new Weaver boxcars for $10 each, which I am going to repaint with my son.

It's all a matter of perspective, sometimes shows are a gold mine and sometimes a bust for trains. (Both buying and selling)  At least you spend time with your grandkids.

The Judge.

To The Judge - I'm happy you were able to sell some trains and I remember going to your tables.  But at noon on Saturday the SS Hi-Railers were not there. They're always at the Wilmington show and they set up a terrific layout for the kids to see, so it was disappointing.  Only two of the advertised layouts were there at noon.  They may have had the others set up later but like I said before,  a blown opportunity for sure.  Thanks for your input on this.  RICH
