Help! Fastrack CC Turnout missing part?

That's the plug where the control wires led out from the turnout to the controler. There is a cutout on both sides where that piece goes.

It is the straight notch section, as indicated in the diagram.

Lionel ought to recreate their illustration of the switch and its' pieces to be attached, as the current illustration of the 'Straight Side' piece looks nothing like the actual plastic piece!!!

In the illustration posted above, the curved side filler is depicted. The controller wire is on the straight side.

I had a remote switch that "locked up" as well. The gear on the end of the motor tried to run up the end of the "rack" mechanism.

I greased it as well only for it to occur again awhile later. I then discovered the 2 screws mounting the motor weren't all the way tight, allowing it to rise up at the end of travel and get caught. I snugged up the screws and the problem never returned.

   Guess I must be lucky, mine all work perfectly, I did have an LED that went bad for some reason however.  Guns tell me it's a major job to replace, so I just left it unlit for now.  Wish Lionel would make the LED in these switches operator replaceable.

When you get some other parts that you need from Lionel, order the switch stand complete, $6.50. The catch is Lionel's flat shipping fee, so combine with other parts, like smoke wicks and such.

I may have the same issue Rick.  It's locked up again.  I'll check the screws tonight and see if they have worked loose.  Boy my cars make a racket going over a wrong way turnout on the reverse loop!

OK guys, I've tried everything I can think of.  Nothing is loose inside and she is well lubricated.  She keeps locking up.  Any other suggestions?

Yes, when the gear thingy moves, you will notice that it must push on the arm of the small cherry switch at either end of the travel.

When that switch is not actuated, it will stay in that position.

The question is, is it still physically binding or is it the cherry not actuating the electronics.

LOL. Are you having fun with the umpteen screws yet?

The bottom has to be off and you need to actuate the switch and observe the travel to both sides.

Have you tried deleting the switch and reassigning it in the Legacy remote? Sometimes, it takes a little longer press on the button to fire the switch.
