"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Have been acquiring some HO equipment over the last year or two and am somewhat confused at the vast price differences in passenger cars.  I remember the older Athearn cars that were very nice albeit not scale length and the IHC cars that appeared to be longer. Both were really reasonably priced and remain so today. When Bachman introduced their Spectrum line of heavyweights, I picked up a couple of sets back in the early 1990s and still have the handsome UP cars today. They have lights and interiors and retailed for $19.95 ea then. Seems they can be had for about the same now.

In looking online I see a vast array of cars, with Athearn, Con-Cor, Walthers, MTH, and BLI offering cars from $19 - $90 each. Many don't even have lights for that money! Hard to imagine paying $90 for a production HO car...

Does anyone have experience with the different manufactures' product and could recommend a set to purchase?  I'm leaning towards the stainless cars with the maroon stripe above. I have a PRR T1 and DGLE GG1 to share head end duties.

Anyone have a set they would like to unload?

Thanks
