I havn't kept up but just started to notice...does anyone still make the brass HO track or is it all nickel? Why the change? And does Marklin still make that neat rolled steel track with litho tin roadbed? M-Track I believe?
"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.
Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Pretty sure brass track left the building before the end of the last century.
Pretty sure Marklin's M-Track is likewise hasn't been made for quite a while. It's been replaced by C-Track with a plastic base.
Rusty
Love the look of the c rail track. Great switch variety.
Too bad this track cant be made in O gauge. Lionel at least needs to make some of these switches in the fastrack line. Then they would have a more complete track line and almost dominate the ready to run track market.
I prefer the Kato Unitrack system. I want to say its brass rails, but don't quote me on that.
So is brass just not as good as silvered for rail operation. Brass looks more realistic. Or is it the cost of materials...brass has copper.
Kato track is Nickle silver
nickle silver is best..no contest...brass track needs to be kept clean all the time. thats why nickle silver came to be. my HO has been nickle silver track. i paint the track to look more realistic. but leave the top silver

I think Brass has a greater tendency to tarnish than nickel silver, which just gets dirty.
Brass is probably a more conductive material, but that's probably the main positive side.
Brass tarnishes far worse than nickle silver. I have used all the track types with the exception of Marklin and the Kato is far and away the best system but it lacks the vast number of switches that are available in regular track but everything is nickle silver except the cheap Bachmann track with the black base that uses steel rail
I hope LGB still makes their brass track like always?
