TV: Lone Ranger, Wells fargo, Rawhide, Lassie, Casey Jones, Death Valley Days, Petticoat Junction, The Wild, Wild, West, Big Valley, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie and many more.

Thanks for sharing!  I had no idea that engine had such a long list of appearances!

It's easier to name the movies and TV programs that needed a period train that Sierra #3 wasn't in.

Wikipedia has a fairly comprehensive listing.

And after all that movie and TV exposure, there were only two commercial models of Sierra #3 ever made, both HO.  The slightly oversized version by Manuta/Tyco and a white metal kit by Arbor Models.

I didn't relize #3 was the train in Back to the Future!

Merry Christmas Popsrr and yes Steamer, they changed the number and sometimes the smokestack look on the #3 quite frequently on different movies and TV shows. ME-TV is great in that like TVLAND, it plays the old favorite shows of the 50's and 60's.
