"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Alright, many of us likely know Bismarck’s sister ship, Tirpitz, was destroyed by British Lancaster bombers armed with “Tallboy” bombs near Tromso, Norway.  But what if it had been captured and moved to the United States for display?  What if your HO benefited from this working model of Tirpitz?

Would your layout claim supremacy over other HO layouts?  Would anyone even notice the trains?

...Or something to go in the pond for your backyard G scale layout!...

...perfect complement to your LGB empire!

B-in-law in northern Michigan...when they lived on a lake...was intrigued with this sort of project.  Said there were a few fellow lakeside dwellers he'd like to quietly drop anchor in one of these about 50 yards off their dock early one morning, fire up a boom-box on-board amplifier playing, say, Ride of the Valkyries (Wagner), wait for their appearance, and fire off a couple of "Gooood Morning!" salvos!  All in good fun, of course!

Ah, yes, it's that 'guy thing' (she says)...the bigger the better.

Thanks for posting the Tirpitz tour.  Very nicely done.

Precedent:  DKM Prinz Eugen, a German heavy cruiser (8 x 8" main guns, ca. 14,000 standard tons), was ceded to the US as a war prize post WW II.  The ship came to the USN wearing the US Naval Ensign, spent time on both coasts, was tested and had parts removed for long-term examination.  The ship was then included in the Bikini Island tests, moored very near the Test Baker device.  Her sunken hulk attracts divers these days.
