I'm looking for something simple like a two wire hookup to a Heartland 4-4-0 steam engine. Any recommendations?
"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.
Post your non-O scale stuff here!

As above: PHOENIX.
Try Dallee sound systems
The LGB sound systems are excellent, in my opinion. They can be added to just about any locomotive that has a tender. Along with the sound module, you will need a sound trigger and it's a good idea to include the capacitor, which LGB calls the sound retention piece, or something like that.
Any thoughts on the Piko Steam sound system? I see a bunch listed on da Bay.
It's funny this topic came up, I am looking to do the same with a couple of my G locomotives
Phoenix sound.
Phoenix is the gold standard, although LGB and Dallee are also quality products.

And what is the sound trigger?
IT finally arrived! Ain't She a Beauty!
All I need to do is add an R.E.A. Coupler to match the rest of my [Limited] Stock.
