The previous posts have done the job of explaining the background of your diner.

The "printed windows" you mention are LIONEL's traditional plastic silhouette strips for each side of the car that were used in the postwar 2500 series aluminum extruded passenger cars.

Your TCA car is essentially the same as the PW cars, but with an extrusion that has smooth sides and roof.

They are a very nice looking car/set in their own right; however, I along with others buy them for their relatively low cost and repaint them in other road names.
