I have a Lionel Norfolk & Western Mallet #1409. I've always had it programmed as #14. This morning when I went to put my Southern Heritage Diesel #8099 on the track, it's number is 99, the mallet started moving when the diesel moved.

The mallet responds to 99 & 14. I reprogrammed the number to 14, 1, it still responds to whatever number I program it to and 99? I trried to reprogram back to factory settings, still no luck.

Never ran across this one before. Any ideas?

It's a good rule to never use 1 or 99 for TMCC engines. 1 since that is default from the factory can end up being a problem similar to what you encountered when using 99.

Possible real world example which just might have happened to me a few years ago.  You leave your engine to 1, then you go to your clubs layout and use TMCC and on a layout that never had TMCC on it before and suddenly 8 engines take off at once leaving one in the turntable pit. The club changed their rules to forbid the use of 1 after that
