Perhaps this should be in the 2-Rail Scale forum, however it looks like Lego is considering a Golden Spike set. That would be a lot of fun. Needs 10,000 votes to be a go though

My son collects and builds Lego. He has the Lone Ranger 4-6-0 steam loco set and the set that looks like the TGV. Cool stuff.....I built a 2 truck Shay myself!
Scratch-built Shay or a kit?
Any photos?
THose large Lego layouts at train shows are amazing. I will give them a vote for the project.
The 2 steam engineers look grumpy so they got that part right.
Ten years ago Mega Blocks made a great Large Scale CP semi streamlined Hudson. The gauge was about 3 inches and it ended up being about 19 inches long but it was just the engine and no tender. i got one and put it together. It was a fun model and took a ought two hours to get it together. I've passed it along.
I'm in.

It's my own design....I'll run over to my son's house and take some pics!
I love LEGO trains, just wish they made more steam locomotive sets. I only got three of the last one they made.
I wanted 6 more to make other locomotives, but they were discontinued before I could get the money to buy them. But I did make a Garrett out of combining 2 of the sets. One of these days I might sit down with LDD and create a file to share and put on that site to see if it gets votes to get made.
Here it is with my son's Hogwarts Express in the background.
