Can someone list the features of these engines? Are they better than running Legacy conventional? The Lionel website isn't very helpful.

Legacy is a control system built into newer engines. Yes you can run all Legacy engines conventionally but you only get a few features. Overall you miss a lot
A legacy running in conventional is nice, because the engines are nicely outfitted overall. I have a few of these both steam and diesel, and am pleased with the performance in conventional. That said, I think LionChief Plus is a much better value, with some good, basic features (like the ones active with Legacy in conventional). You do lose many capabilities of Legacy by running conventional, however.
