Lionel NS Heritage ES44ACE? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I was looking at a listing on Ebay for the Lionel Lehigh Valley NS Heritage ES44AC. While looking at some of the pictures, I noticed that the side of the cab says ES44ACE instead of ES44AC. I've never heard of an ES44ACE, and I know that the real NS 8104 says ES44AC, but maybe it was different at some point. I wouldn't let something like this stop me from buying it (even though I wasn't going to anyways), but I would like to know if there is a reason behind it or if it is just a mistake.

Only EMD uses the "ACe" model designation. NOT GE.

Yea ... why did they do that?

They printed the correct "EC44AC" on the Conrail unit which was released at the same time.

My MTH NS SD70ACe says "SD70ACe" on the box but the model says "SD70M-2" on the cab, which is the DC variant. Again, China.
