Lionel Peanuts Chase Car

Am curious. Has anyone purchased the Linus and Lucy chase car and had trouble with the kids making it around the crate at one end. Just had two cars of which neither one worked properly. Linus gets hung up with his hands and Lucy's base catches. Just looking for others observations/experiences. Thanks.
