Well, today the little Plymouth was on the ground again. Didn't seem to be any track problem this time but she jumped the tracks anyway. The engineer said she's more rigid than the two steamers. Sorry to see it again. Don

If it went on the ground, there is an issue with the track. If the pictures you posted from the previous derailment were any indication, they are in desperate need of a major tie replacement program.
Maybe they should just run the steam? Low budget, low maintenance=low
reliability. Glad I didn't experience that the one time I rode the L,K & P.
Rich, After walking most of the line I would guess 60 to 70 percent of the line needs new ties. This train only goes about 10 miles an hour. It shouldn't have jumped the track though this time the rail didn't turn. With both steam engine out for repairs they are loosing a lot of money. Don
That's what happens when you rely too heavily on the practice of "deferred maintenance" with your trackage.
I think Rich should get a group of Forumies together and have a "working vacation" here. Don

I'm not very good at manual labor but for the sake of the railroad count me in!

Steve, they got stuck here going up hill with one of the steam engines and the engineer ran across the street to the beach. I watched all this from the post office. You guest it. She got a bucket of sand. Don
"she got a bucket of sand" "she" being the steam locomotive, or the steam
engineer? They must be running this road like those out of Beebe and Clegg's
"Mixed Train Daily".

Don, do you really think we have a bunch of Gandy Dancers here on the OGR? At best case I think we have some that can dance around with words....
