Thanks to Scott Long’s recommendation, the Pilentum TV channel on YouTube took an interest in doing a video on my old layout. I think Pilentum did a great job as usual and I’m happy to be featured on his popular channel. Here is a collection of footage not seen before, filmed just before that layout was dismantled around 2011-2012:

Beautiful.
That's one of my favorite channels: no unnecessary narration, no banjos, just good photography and interesting layouts.
Speaking of "layouts": if you look at older publications, the term often used was "pike". You rarely if ever see that now...🤔🙂

Here's another question.
This fabulous layout is "scale" in every way, except for the center rail and oversized wheels and couplers.
So...is it considered a "traditional toy train" layout, due to those 3 things, or is it ""3 Rail Scale"?
Either way, it's as good as it gets...in any scale! 👍

Thanks for posting Norm. Always a pleasure to see your fantastic work.
Norm, Have been a fan of yours since I saw your first layout. Really inspirational. Wasn't aware of this channel until this posting thanks. Always great to have another opportunity to see your fantastic layouts.

Fantastic, Norm! I can't get my layout to run, let alone attempt the level of detail you achieve. Thanks for inspiring me all these years to do better.
Norm,
Awesome and an honor well deserved. I can't believe this was your "first" layout. For many, this would be the one they worked their entire life to achieve. To have your layout featured on this channel helps confirm your very unique accomplishment, especially as a 3-rail guy.

Norm,
Thanks for sharing. Looks great!
Hey thanks guys. Glad he could use that old footage. That was from around the time of the OGR article in Run 262.

I have a question for you.
I see (2) YouTube channels for you: one is under your name; the other is called "Norm's Trains", which features a lot of great "how I did it" videos. The layout (s) certainly look the same on both, far as quality is concerned.
Is one a newer channel? Just different focus? Both are wonderful...👍
Thank you.

I only have the one channel. I changed the name a while back but the URL reflects the original name. Thanks for the kind words.

Thank you for having that/those channel (s). 😁
Your modeling and video skills are equally impressive.

Mr. Lenz was able to salvage some even older footage of Greenbrook from around 2006-2008. I’m happy he was able to make use of some of the older low res video of the day. I was probably using a Canon S3 at the time with a bit of footage from a T1i I had for a brief time. I feel honored to have two videos on his awesome channel!
