Nanotrains

The San Diego RR museum 3 Railers have had 2 of these ILDmotors  trains running daily for years. I was told one of ours is even an early prototype. They do look like a G scale train set next to the O scale trains.

I believe that's exactly where I saw them! Was in SD two weeks ago with Dad and we went to a museum with multiple layouts.  Was yours the one with the Ghostbusters scene and the minions and all the fun trains?

Yes, it was our layout in the back corner room. We are the toy train room so we get to have a little more fun with our trains and scenery than the scale more realistic clubs.

If you looked close one of the nano trains is on a piece of cardboard painted black and the control board is mounted under the station it sits above. The current products he makes look a lot more finished. They are very trouble free, dust or dirt is your only enemy. Every once and a while one of the "train cars or engine" misses the pulse pulling it forward and it will stop and the train will go around and then pile up into it just like in real life accident scenes.  A piece of dust or dirt will be the cause, just pick them up and place them on the track and they start to go. the trick is placing them in order and the spacing. Not to hard to get the hang of.

Have you only used the pre-made kits? I see he is now offering what looks like track sections.

Have you tried anything other than the "trains" that come with it?

My son has this, although he hardly uses it, interest lasted about a week.

Some time ago, I saw a video on one of those. My wife and I are Americans who are happily retired in Mexico, and I don't think they sell them here. Man, I really would like one.
