"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Anyone know where I might lay hands on a worm gear, or working complete motor, for an A.C. Gilbert HO "Hudson" with the piston type smoke unit in the loco? I've check the usual places, and nobody seems to have the gear or a complete motor. This is for the 'HO' loco, not the larger 'S' version I could drop a Timko motor into.

Len,

I don't have the worm gear but I do have the remains of a piston style something that was mounted in the tender of an HO loco that I think was AF.

The casing was all pot metal  and broken into numerours pieces.   What I have is the arm with the piston mounted to a base  that has a few gears and the motor. I'll never use it but if it would help you in anyway now or in the future you're more than welcome to have it.

Yeah, I tried the 'Bay' right off. Tons of erector set, diesel, and 0-6-0 motors, but they don't fit the 4-6-4. There are a couple of complete Hudsons, but the one I've got is in great condition except for missing the worm gear. And I don't really want to pay for a complete loco just to get the motor unless I can't find one any other way. Train show coming up in November, maybe I'll see if I can find something there.
