I’m not an HO guy, but thought this was a nice looking piece. Can anyone tell me about the company and years they were made.
thanks

IIRC, General Hobbies Co. of Philadelphia eventually became part of AHM, which became IHC. That brass loco is probably 1950s vintage.

Thanks for the education Mitch.

GHC imported cast locomotives in the 1960's. I don't believe the Atlantic was brass. I have the GG1 they imported which was offered under nearly every brand name in the HO world in the mid to late 1960's including GHC, Varney, AHM, and Life Like.
Die cast. also brought in by Aristo craft. most disintegrated due to zinc pest . your lucky this one is in one piece.

I thought the construction looked familiar. I have the Aristo Craft Ten Wheeler from 1958.
Hmm... I've got a tender that looks identical, but it's brass and factory painted "B&O"...

Steve, hit Carey up as he also collects prewar HO and he has had a lot of early brass pass through, he might have some comments. Also, you might check the library of ho seeker on line, he has a ton of uploaded catalogs and stuff. He has several early IMP catalogs and he might have something that covers your loco as well.
Mine is die cast, not brass. Only issue is a very slight warp to the tender frame.
