Need recommendations on detail parts for GP30

I have a PSC catalog and usually order direct from them. It still takes a few weeks to get parts from them, but they usually have everything in stock. I'll look through it and see what I can find for you.

Thanks!  I've ordered direct from PSC before,  but I don't do much with diesels,  so I don't have the diesel catalog.  Now that I think about it, they never sent me the steam catalog I ordered last year.

PSC catalog is online.  At least the larger Steam catalog.  It's a fairly large download. Along with the Diesel Catalog No. 3, there is also a General Sundries & Specialty Parts Catalog #9748  Click on the underlined phrase to link.

Yeah, the online steam catalog is how I ordered parts in the past.  The diesel catalog is not online, however.

In any case, I think one of those 48" fan shrouds will work, as well as the MU ports.  Those are what I really need before I start painting.  Guess I'll be scratch-building a plow.

Did you try P&D or maybe even Overland? I know Overland used to have really nice HO detail parts, I wonder if they sell O scale parts?

Is this something that can be made with a 3D printer? Maybe use an HO scale plow and enlarge.

P&D has a plow but it's not right, haven't checked Overland.   Perhaps it could be made with a 3D printer, but I certainly don't have one.

I believe all excess Overland O scale parts were bought by Bill Davis some years ago.  I don't think he has a website, but rather sells via ebay with the user name "Brassmonger". You should contact him.  What is showing on ebay right now is only two pages, but he has tables and tables full of parts at the Chicago meet.

 

Another option is Des Plaines Hobbies in Chicago.  I always check both them and P&D. It's best to call and ask as their website is nearly undecipherable.

Everybody has there phobias and foibles, well mine is I don't like conducting business over the phone.  I'm not buying anything that I'm not looking at a picture of, and definitely not comfortable without the physical records left behind by conducting business via email or web form.  PSC already stretches my patience with their unwillingness to prioritize putting their catalogs online.

If you go to P&D hobby shops website and go under o scale 2 rail detail parts, mintures by Eric has some great EMD detail parts(snowplows and ditch lights)
