"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Hello Guys,

I recently picked this up at a local train show at what think was a good price of $15.00.

I'm not into HO per se but, I saw this and thought it was a good deal and I'm thinking of giving this to a friend as a small gift.

I've posted some photo's and I need a bit of advise:

1. The green and white wires are for power to the motor and track on the span I believe.  I was assured by the seller that it runs.  Does this require AC or DC power?

2. How do you hook up the remaining wires and what is their purpose?

3. Pictured is a neoprene screw with a nut, I need at least one more like this as one is missing.  Any ideas where I could find such a screw and nut?

4. Also there aren't any markings on the turntable, anyone have any ideas who and when this was manufactured?

In advance thanks for your help!

A friend has one of these that he's adapted to 3-rail for very small locomotives.  I believe it was originally intended for S-scale and was made in the late 1950's.  The green and black wires go to the motor to turn the table and it runs on DC.  The red and white wires are track power.  The bridge has wipers that makes the connection to the two track rails.  Your insulated screw is nylon, not neoprene.  Your local hardware store might stock nylon machine screws of the right size.  My local Ace Hardware carries a pretty good selection.
