New to Lionel Legacy

Both the TMCC CV and the Docksider should be operated as TMCC.  This will give you the proper icons  The CV is early RS and should be set RS and the Docksider should default to RS5.

Thank you Marty, I was trying to read the manual to set everything up while my 6yr old couldn’t wait to get his hands on running the trains, it was overwhelming trying to put all the information in for the engines. It didn’t help that I have never used a legacy remote either haha.

Can anyone tell me what the aux 3 and rule 17 is?

Aux 3 controls some features on the newest Legacy locos. I watched a video on the Vision Niagara, and the Aux 3 key activates the pop-off valve manual control when held down. The Rule 17 lighting key makes the directional lights dim when the loco is stopped and bright when the loco starts moving if Rule 17 is turned on.

The Docksider works better, at least IMO, using R100 mode.  It eliminates the four detents for each throttle step and still gives you the proper Icons on the CAB2.
