Hello,

I would love some advice about painting and weathering O scale machines. I have purchased some castings and kits and I want to try to have them look like the machines in the attached photos. I imagine an aluminum color is needed but the green color is a bit of a mystery and, I assume, I might try an airbrush with some type of "dust" light spray. Many thanks for your suggestions.

For that green, either Vallejo "zinc chromate" or Tamiya "cockpit green" will work. I have used it on several models/trains, and weathering it really brings down the brightness. For a lot of my models, I will dry brush Vallejo silver; it does a great job at both bringing out details, as well as aging the models. You can also try to use Tamiya panel liner.

Hope I helped,

Greg
