I'm also looking for a pickup assembly for a Santa Fe B unit. ebay has this one which I think should work: 2332-49

I could order from Lionel but the $9 shipping is a bit much for something that should cost $1 in an small envelope.

P.S. Boxcar Bill, I'll be buying a 8057-200 smoke unit from you soon. I've like to support my LHS in Utah, but they either don't have the parts or would cost me more than ordering direct (including shipping).

Mr. Black

Does anyone put lights in their B units?  If its got portholes it needs light coming out in my opinion.

Not sure I've ever seen the lights on in a B-unit...particularly when it's rolling down the track.  Actually, I've not seen lights on in the 'porthole area' of an A-unit, either.  These are not typically while-we're-running personnel areas...just for maintenance or passing-through, as I understand it.  Baggage cars are in the same category...typically lights-out, except when in a station for loading/unloading.

I wouldn't take the time to add lights in any of these areas, but that's just MHO.  I'm sure others will offer differing opinions.

Can't help with the parts...but I share your frustration in finding some of these.  Good luck!

At the Oct York I had a conversation with Jeff, AKA Train Tender, about shipping.  The only thing that can be shipped in a flat envelope is something Flat, like a decal.

The postal machines will tear up anything with three dimensions.

The smallest postal "If it Fits, it Ships" box is now, what, $5.25?

Some small, light boxes can be shipped for less than $5, but they have to be really light.

I don't like a flat minimum of $9, but anymore it's not that far off.
