Long before the black and orange "Tigers" of the Wheeling & Lake Erie traversed the rails of the mainline between Rook Yard in Pittsburgh and Mingo Junction, Ohio, the old "Hi-Line" was ruled by the Pittsburgh & West Virginia. Taking a step back in time, we look at these old faded photos of the way things used to be on the O Gauge W&LE. When the P&WV ruled the rails. Enjoy, Jason.

Norm,

You are spot on!

Perhaps Lionel could offer 2 Mallets / 2 cab numbers:

(1) tender lettered P&WV

(2) tender lettered Pittsburgh & West Virginia

Lionel recently released a 3-car set of P&WV diecast hoppers.

Hopefully, they would then offer additional sets and a pair of cabooses with different numbers.

Or .................. MTH beating them to the punch with Premier offerings.

My 2 cents.

Best regards,

POP.

Being from Pittsburgh area and having an uncle who did welding work for P&WV, AND that MTH had P&WV offerings first is why I operate DCS.  If Lionel had had P&WV first I wouold have been TMCC operator.

Thanks for tip off that Lionel has P&WV hoppers.  Lionel numbers so I can see what they look like (and prices)?
