Polar Express Scale Heavyweight Hobo Car

I have the newer cars and the windows are green. 

Did the older cars have green windows?  The LEDs look great and I do not notice any loss of detail inside the car, passengers and all.  I can see where green windows and incandescent might look bad.

Yep, the 2014 (black roof) cars have frosted green windows. The interiors are nearly impossible to see.

The hobo car is great. The clear windows and LEDs are a terrific upgrade.

For anyone that has received the new scale hobo car, does it have Polar Express lettering on both sides  of the car ? I received mine and it only has Polar Express on one side.  I pulled out one of my other scale PE cars  and it has lettering on both sides.  Or was that how this car was in the movie, lettering on only one side ?  

Rider will be able to answer your question on the black roof version.  Sounds like a quality control issue to me.  Who did you buy it from?  May be a return to the dealer.  I just noticed the black roof cars have the lettering above the windows instead of below like the white roof cars.  I will order the new scale hobo car soon. 

I have sent an email to the dealer to probably swap it out.  I guess it’s kind of a neat conversation piece , but looks a little goofy with all the others .  

Good call.  As the day went on I came to the conclusion it has to be a big miss by the factory. 

Mine has lettering on both sides. His car has to be a factory error.

With the way things are  going maybe The ones with lettering on both sides is a factory error. Lol.

I recently received the lighted Hobo car with the snow roof & the led lighting is great! I'll need to add led lighting & snow to my other cars now.

Are the lights in the Hobo car supposed to stay lit for a short period after power shut down?

Yes.  It has a capacitor in it, which prevents the flickering on the track.
